Base Knowledge
The basic knowledge is transversal, namely from the fundamental sciences and from some areas of the course’s specialty, at the first degree and, desirably, with some kind of professional experience, in order to allow a comprehensive vision in the understanding and application of the broad spectrum of cross infection.
Teaching Methodologies
Material resources: Computer and video projector.
Use of interactive audio-visual media; presentation of scientific papers, discussion of case studies and carrying out research work.
Technical study visits, in a real work context, with prior realization of work tools, to support the studies of assisted observation in locus, with the completion of technical observation reports.
Learning Results
– To know the National Program for the Prevention and Control of Infections Associated with Health Care.
– To understand the organizational structure of an epidemiological surveillance system (active) of Infection Associated with Health Care.
– To identify the responsibility of the various actors in the prevention and control of HAI.
– To know the standard precautionary measures, isolation measures and occupational biosafety measures for the prevention and control of infection associated with health care.
– To know the most relevant concepts about cross-infection, applicable to the physical assets of institutions.
