Teaching Methodologies

The methodology adopted in theoretical component is expository active, using slides, videos and texts, which will be made available to students. In addition, is provided for the analysis of clinical cases based on program contents is developed in theoretical and presentation of group work. The evaluation will rely on a final written test and a group work. The evaluation procedures will comply with the determinations foreseen in the Academic regulation.

Learning Results

Must acquire knowledge of:
-Pathophysiology of central or peripheral neurological pathologies
-Pathophysiology and treatment of sleep disorders
Must acquire skills of:
-Recognize that the patient has a neurological problem
-Recognize the disturbances of the sleep-wake circadian rhythm
-Clinical and anatomical evaluation and correlation in the approach to clinical cases;
Must acquire skills of:
-Interpret a clinical history of a patient with neurological pathology
-Recognize the topographic semiology of lesions in the nervous system and the consequent understanding of the compromised functions
-Discuss the different sleep pathologies, their etiopathogenesis and differential diagnosis, clinical manifestations and treatment
-Analyze and classify the different polygraphic sleep studies
– Integrate sleep assessment methods and their conclusions in the clinical context, understanding the objective and specificity of each of them in different sleep pathologies.
