Teaching Methodologies

Grading Methods

The assessment components that will be used in the assessment methods are as follows:

a) In the periodic evaluation:

a1) Three written tests, with weighting of 35%, 35% and 30%, respectively. The first two tests will be carried out during the academic period, with dates to be set by the teacher, and the last one will be carried out during the exam period corresponding to the normal period, in accordance with article 14 of the Academic Regulations of the 1st cycle of studies at ESTGOH. In addition, for each written test, the possibility of a bonus of 1 value (weighted to the respective percentage of each test, and the sum of the test grade and the respective bonus cannot exceed 20 values) if the student respects the following attendance:

- Attendance in at least 80% of classes that take place between the date of registration of each student and the completion of the 1st test.

- Attendance in at least 80% of classes that take place between the date of the 1st test and the 2nd test.

- Attendance in at least 80% of classes that take place after the 2nd test.
The only justifications for non-attendance accepted are those included in article 39 of the Academic Regulations for the 1st cycle of studies at ESTGOH.

a2) The final grade for the periodic assessment will be based on a weighted average of the grades obtained in the written tests.

a3) The student will be approved by the periodic assessment method if the result of the grade calculated in the previous paragraph is equal to or greater than 9.5 values.

b) In assessment by exam:

b1) A written global exam that will be carried out on the date of the final assessment exam in the normal period of the same curricular unit, in accordance with article 14 of the Academic Regulations of the 1st cycle of studies at ESTGOH.

b2) The student will pass this method if their grade in the overall written exam is higher than 9.5.

 

The exam assessment method will also be applied to the curricular unit in question, in the following Appeal and Special periods.
