Micro-credential in Nutrition and Women’s Health

Course Objectives

Modern nutrition has evolved from a generalist approach to a precision model, where individualisation is the cornerstone of therapeutic success. However, women’s health continues to be frequently addressed without the necessary diagnostic depth regarding the endocrine and metabolic fluctuations that define their life cycle.
This training is justified by the need to translate academic theory into clinical practice, enabling professionals to interpret and intervene, from a dietary and nutritional point of view, in the physiological and hormonal particularities of women.
The course offers a rigorous update on the latest evidence, combating misinformation and providing trainees with tools for the nutritional approach to critical conditions, including infertility, metabolic management in pregnancy and the prevention of prevalent chronic diseases such as osteoporosis.
The Microcredential in Women’s Nutrition and Health thus arises as a response to the need for specialised training in this area and will enable the development of theoretical and, above all, practical skills by higher education students in the health fields and health professionals.
This training will enable:
– Trainees to understand the physiological, hormonal and metabolic articularities of women at different stages of the life cycle.
– Update scientific evidence on nutritional interventions applied to women’s health.
– Develop practical skills for assessment, nutritional diagnosis and personalised dietary/nutritional prescription for women.
The specific objectives of this micro-credential are:
– To guide nutritional behaviour in specific situations: menarche, menstrual cycle, polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, infertility, pregnancy, lactation and menopause.
– Discuss nutritional strategies for chronic diseases prevalent in women (e.g., osteoporosis).
