Teaching Methodologies

Classes are made up of two components, theoretical and practical in order to provide the student with an
knowledge acquisition structured on a theoretical basis and validated with practical application tools. The student will have access to the slides that the bibliography integrates as well as the study material developed by the teacher. Local and virtual computer support is important, it is present in all classes allowing the student a variety of ways to access information adapted to digital reality.

Learning Results

The e-Business Systems course aims to equip students with advanced knowledge, analytical skills, and critical thinking abilities to understand, design, implement, and evaluate digital business systems, integrating technology, organizational processes, and marketing strategies in national and international contexts.

Specifically, it is intended that students will be able to:

Understand the fundamentals and evolution of e-Business systems, including e-commerce, digital platforms, business ecosystems, and emerging digital models.

Analyze the role of Management Information Systems (MIS) in supporting decision-making, integrating business processes, and creating value in digital environments.

Evaluate e-commerce and digital business strategies, considering technological, organizational, economic, and social dimensions.

Understand and apply digital marketing and business communication concepts in the context of e-Business, including customer journey, omnichannel, and customer experience.

Analyze digital data and metrics, using digital analytics principles to support strategic decisions focused on the consumer and organizational performance.
Critically evaluate the impact of digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence on business processes, namely through automation, intelligent agents, and decision support systems.
Develop an integrated and strategic vision of digital business, considering ethical, security, privacy, sustainability, and global competitiveness challenges.
Apply theoretical knowledge to practical contexts and real-world cases, promoting the ability to solve complex problems in e-business environments.

Analysis and Evaluation Skills
Critically analyze e-Business systems and models, evaluating their strategic, technological, and organizational suitability in different market contexts.
Evaluate the impact of digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence on business processes, particularly in automation, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
Interpret digital data and metrics, using digital analytics principles to support strategic decisions focused on performance and the consumer.

Application and Problem-Solving Skills
Apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations through the analysis of real-world cases and the development of solutions to complex problems in e-business environments.
Design and propose integrated digital solutions, combining technology, marketing, and business processes.
Use digital tools and e-business platforms critically and in an informed manner, considering criteria of efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.

Develop critical and strategic thinking in evaluating digital and technological trends.
Integrate ethical, legal, and security considerations, particularly regarding privacy, data protection, and the responsible use of technology.

Grading Methods

1- This curricular unit gives preference to continuous weekly assessment.

2- Every week the student and his team present the evolution of practical work.

3- The evolution of practical work is saved on a virtual storage platform.

4- The work is worth 50% of the course unit.

5- Complementing the student's assessment, the student must prepare a scientific article ready to submit at a conference in the areas of  business” and/or “Management” in the current academic year. The article must use scientific databases ensuring the quality of research and scientific analysis. The previous review of the article will be carried out by the professor responsible for the curricular unit. The model is free to choose but must follow the themes and formats of the “call for papers” of the conference selected for publication in the current academic year.

6- Students who choose not to carry out continuous assessment must present a work topic and a research and investigation topic in the format of a scientific article in the last week of classes.

7- You will defend the aforementioned work as well as the scientific article on the exam date in an oral exam.

8- The final grade of the curricular unit is the result of the weighted average of the grade

of the work and the written report.

9- Students will pass with a final grade equal to or greater than 9.5.
