Teaching Methodologies

The course will be developed according to a theoretical-practical model with structured exposition of the contents and related analysis and discussion or debate.
Students will be evaluated through written assignment, about contents taught on subject and a written test, consisting of questions that evaluate the extent and depth of the theoretical knowledge acquired in the course and the ability of practical application of that knowledge to everyday situations and to particular scientific area.
The approval in the subject is achieved with a greater than, or equal to, 10 marks , resulting from the sum of the marks obtained in the written work and in the test, weighted, respectively, with 25% and 75 %. The classification in each (assignment and test) can not be less than 9.5.
The assessment can also be done through a written exam with identical structure of the test during times designated for that purpose.

Skills: Knowing the evolution of the concepts related to occupational health and work and integrate knowledge in health and safety; Understand basic psychosocial aspects of health promotion, prevention and overcoming the
disease, and treatment adherence; Analyze and interpret the relationships between behavior, emotions and health; Discuss and analyze the application of socio-psychological theories and models in the adoption and maintenance of health behaviors as well as the modification of risk behaviors;
Competencies: Protect himself appropriately in the performance of their profession and promote a safe and healthy workplace; Know and discuss the role of the physiotherapist in promoting the health of workers; Reflect on the
disease in psychosocial terms; Be an active agent in promoting health behaviours; Identify and deal with emotions and stress.

3.1. Health behavior, illness, sick, preventive (behavioral protection), risk (behavioral risk), behavioral pathogens and immunogens, beneficial and harmful health behaviors;
3.2. Determinants of health behavior and disease
Psychosocial, emotional, cognitive and environmental factors and influences;
The stress as a reason and consequence of health-related behaviors;
Stress and disease and the factors mediating this relationship;
Health beliefs and cognitions of disease, its importance and consequences;
4 Importance of Psychology in health services The hospitalization and surgical interventions; The hospitalized child;
AIDS and oncological diseases;
5 The patient-health professional relationship
Communication and understanding in health;
Adherence to treatment and causes of noncompliance;
