Teaching Methodologies

Explanatory classes in which the syllabus will be discussed and three group works carried out by the students, under the guidance of the teacher, and which aim to create a hypothetical national hearing health plan, followed by a debate by each group, online, commented by students and teachers.

Assessment continues:
The assessment will be carried out through a face-to-face test of multiple choice questions (15) and open development questions (5), with a total of 20 values ??distributed equally (1 value each), with 1 hour response time.
The final grade must be at least 9.5 points.
The assessment by exam will be identical to that described in the continuous assessment.

Learning Results

Allow the student to:
– know the current reality of hearing health policies and directives that currently exist.
– know the DGS Clinical Guidelines.
– know the Labor Prevention Legislation in relation to noise.
– know the Table of Disabilities in relation to hearing loss.
– discuss the hearing screening protocol at different stages of life: scientific basis and health gains, how to plan a hearing screening.
– know how to demonstrate the costs/benefits of different policies, based on available scientific data.

World population and hearing health
Recommendations from the World Health Organization on hearing health policies
Hearing health in the fields of Prevention, Early diagnosis in at-risk populations, Hearing rehabilitation in the various stages of a citizen’s life
Identification of needs for human resources, equipment and assistive listening devices/systems in the coming decades
Planning a hearing Health policy at all stages of life, based on recommendations from the WHO / World Hearing Forum
