Study of Central Auditory Processing (CAP)

Teaching Methodologies

Theoretical presentation of the auditory system that is involved in central auditory processing tasks, presentation of the various assessment tests that exist internationally. Presentation of the assessment tests available for European Portuguese. Presentation of the BAPA-PE software and its use. Preparation of an auditory processing assessment report.

Written work that cannot exceed 20 pages, with a final grade of at least 9.5 points.

Learning Results

A – Understand the basic principles of PAC, including its structures, functions and importance in auditory perception.
B – Develop skills to identify and diagnose CAP disorders through appropriate assessment methods.
C – Apply intervention and rehabilitation strategies to treat CAP disorders.
D – Critically analyze recent research and advances in the field of CAP, integrating new knowledge into clinical practice.
E – Develop communication and collaboration skills with other professionals and patients in PAC contexts
