Internship

Those necessary for the full execution of the proposed activities.

The Work Context Training (FCT) component has a total duration of 750 hours, taking place on an institution or company designated as the “Host institution” for the student internship.

The 750 hours of the internship developed at the host institution are supervised by an ISEC professor (advisor) and a supervisor at the host institution. The advisor is responsible for assessing the student’s competence and adaptation to the work environment, while simultaneously monitoring the adequacy of the work distributed by the host institution to the student. The supervisor will integrate the student, coordinate his activities and proceed to the evaluation part corresponding to the host institution. Both are responsible for the following: Definition of the work plan, to be developed during the Internship, which will guide the student in the tasks to be performed; Enforce the work plan of the Internship; Proceed to the continuous evaluation of the student according to the parameters of the Internship Evaluation Form.

The student will have to comply with the number of hours defined for the Internship and compensate for the hours lost due to lack of attendance, regardless of the underlying cause. During the Internship the attendance and absences are recorded in the Internship booklet.

The student will have to submit a written report of the internship for evaluation and public presentation.

Consolidate and apply in the work context the acquired  knowledge, skills and attitudes relevant to the exercise of the professional activity of Technician of Chemical and Biological Analysis.
Perform activities under guidance, using techniques, equipment and methodologies within the scope of Chemical and Microbiological Analysis.

An individual work plan will be carried out according to the activities to be carried out at the location of the internship.

The evaluation of this curricular unit is continuous.

The conditions for admission to the Internship, and the evaluation methodology, are described in the ISEC CTSP Regulation in force.

The final classification of the internship takes into account the following elements: a) The evaluation of the work development from the host organization: 50%; b) The evaluation of an internship report: 25%; c) The evaluation of the public presentation of the internship report: 25%.

The public presentation of the internship report is carried out before a jury composed by the coordinator of CTSP (president of the jury), the internal supervisor and a third member appointed by the Internships responsible.

If the appointed president of the jury is, simultaneously, the internal supervisor, he should delegate the presidency of the jury.

The public presentation has a maximum duration of 60 minutes: 20 minutes for the student initial presentation and a maximum of 20 minutes for the third member of the jury.

Upon completion of the presentation, the jury meets for deliberation, the classification attributed and recorded.
