Hydrology and Hydrological Modelling

Base Knowledge

Hydraulics

Teaching Methodologies

Theoretical-practical classes use active teaching/learning methodologies. The syllabus is presented in practical situations, and understanding and critical thinking are encouraged.

Learning Results

  • Recognise the phenomena related to the circulation of water on Earth: precipitation, surface and underground runoff, evaporation, transpiration and infiltration.
  • Analyse the needs and availability of water resources.
  • Characterise and quantify hydrological phenomena.
  • Quantify flows for drainage systems and for sizing hydraulic works.
  • Determine flood hydrographs.
  • Sizing rainwater retention basins.
