Course Objectives
The Higher Professional Technical Course (CTeSP) in Textile Design is part of the fields of textile design and production, with reference to competitive developments in these areas of activity and establishing as its general objective knowledge of materials and production processes, as well as design methodologies that establish the use of creative practices that are essential to innovation and the development of textile practice.
Access Conditions
The following individuals are eligible to submit an application for admission to the programme of studies that culminates in the diploma of higher professional technician:
a) Holders of a secondary education course or a legally equivalent qualification;
b) Individuals who have successfully completed the designated tests designed to evaluate the capacity to pursue higher education for those over the age of 23, taken for the programme in question;
c) Holders of a technological specialisation diploma, a professional higher technician diploma, or a higher education degree.

Learning Objectives
The creation of trend boards and pattern collections for a variety of surfaces and media, including textiles, fashion, accessories, home, stationery and industry, is a key responsibility of the role. This is to be undertaken independently or as part of a team.
The following activities are to be considered integral to this professional profile: 1) Developing projects in the field of textiles.
2) Secondly, they experiment and explore creative paths in the field of textile design, including drawing, illustration, graphics and colours.
3) Building fabric collections for the clothing and decoration sectors, drawing up technical sheets, designing models, themed panels, collection plans, and creating patterns, samples and prototypes.
4) Planning, orienting and executing sample painting and printing in response to professional requirements. 5 Create, develop and promote textile collections.
Access to Superior Studies
Holders of a professional higher technical diploma can apply for the first cycle of studies (bachelor’s degree) through the special application, according to the decree law No. 113/2014 of 16 July).
