Senate

The Senate is composed of the following elements:

– The President of the PUC, who presides;

– The Student Ombudsman;

– The Presidents of the teaching organic units;

– The Director of the research organic unit;

– The Presidents of the Technical-Scientific and Scientific Councils of the organic units;

– The Presidents of the Pedagogical Councils of the teaching organic units;

– The Presidents of Student Associations;

– 2 non-teaching and non-research workers (by election).

The Senate is an advisory body to the PUC President and the General Council, which approves its rules of procedure, and must be consulted on:

– Proposal for PUC’s strategic plan;

– General guidelines for the PUC, in terms of scientific, pedagogical and research and development.

– Creation, transformation or extinction of research and development units;

– Establishment of vacancies for admission of students to degree courses;

– Creation, suspension, termination and evaluation of courses;

– Establishment of cooperation or association agreements with other research and development units.

– Teacher mobility;

– Teacher evaluation system;

– Other matters of a technical-scientific nature that are submitted to it by the president.

– Standards for technical-scientific and pedagogical harmonization of the PUC;

– Creation, transformation or extinction of organic units;

– General rules on the distribution of teaching services, in order to ensure the best use of available human resources;

– Evaluation process of the institute, schools, courses, teachers and students.

 

The Senate may also:

– Prepare proposals or issue opinions on the establishment of school awards;

– Issue opinions or prepare proposals for granting honorary titles or distinctions;

– Pronounce on matters submitted to it by the president of the PUC, on his own initiative or at the request of the schools.
