Mission and Objectives

GAVIP Mission

In line with the need to support, train, develop and retain talent at the PUC, GAVIP functions as a strategic platform whose mission is to promote and value innovation, continuous training and the personal and professional development of teaching and non-teaching staff at the Polytechnic of Coimbra in their different roles.

It aims to contribute to the quality and innovation of the teaching/learning process and to lifelong learning through the creation, dissemination and sharing of knowledge.

GAVIP Objectives

– To contribute to the professional development and improvement of the qualifications of the employees of the Polytechnic of Coimbra (teachers, non-teaching staff, researchers and scholarship holders);

– Promote the development of transversal skills of teaching and non-teaching staff and the pedagogical qualification of teachers at the Polytechnic of Coimbra;

– Stimulate the improvement of Teaching and Learning through the promotion and implementation of new methodologies and interdisciplinary approaches appropriate to the training requirements of students in different study cycles;

– Promote and disseminate innovative practices in the field of teaching and learning;

– Design, promote and support teaching and learning projects aligned with the different contexts of the UOEs;

– Collaborate in projects, partnerships and networks of innovation and pedagogical training for teachers, at national and international level;

– Monitor and follow up on the performance evaluation processes of PUC workers.
