Who can apply?
You must be covered by the International Student Status:
– Not have Portuguese nationality or nationality of a Member State of the European Union;
– Not be a family member of nationals of Portugal or of a Member State of the European Union. Family members considered for this purpose are as follows:
i) Spouse of a citizen of the European Union;
ii) Partner with whom the European Union citizen lives in a de facto union, established in accordance with the law, or with whom the citizen maintains a permanent relationship, duly certified by the competent authority of the Member State where they reside;
iii) Direct descendant under 21 years of age or who is dependent on a citizen of a Member State of the European Union, as well as the spouse or partner defined in the previous paragraph;
– Not be a beneficiary, on January 1st of the year in which you intend to enter higher education, of the status of equality and duties of the international treaty granted between the Portuguese State and the State of which you are a national;
– Not having resided in Portugal for more than two years, uninterruptedly, on January 1st of the year in which you intend to enroll.
General access conditions:
International students eligible to apply to study cycles of Bachelor’s degrees include:
a) Holders of a qualification giving access to higher education, understood as any diploma or certificate issued by a competent authority that attests to successful completion of an educational programme and gives them the right to apply for and enter higher education in the country in which it was awarded;
b) Holders of a Portuguese secondary education diploma or legally equivalent qualification.
Admission conditions:
a) Verification of the specific academic qualification for entry into the specific study cycle to which you are applying (international candidates will have to prove, through documentary evidence or an exam, that they have the knowledge relating to the subjects of the entrance exams set for the Bachelor’s Degree to which they are applying);
b) Verification of knowledge of the language in which the study cycle is taught;
c) Verification of satisfaction of the prerequisites that have been established for the study cycle in question within the scope of the general access and admission regime.
