Employability
The issue of graduate employability has recently become a central concern for higher education institutions. For the Polytechnic of Coimbra, monitoring the socio-professional path of graduates is not only a way of gauging the success of education, but also a necessity for adjusting strategies and supply to the needs of the job market, and is a particularly important tool for defining policies to improve the quality of the training provided in its various study cycles.
By collecting information from graduates, the Polytechnic of Coimbra is able to respond to:
i) the legal imperatives of public disclosure of employability data;
ii) the need to be accountable to the Higher Education Assessment and Accreditation Agency (A3ES), for the purposes of accrediting the study cycles in operation;
iii) the requirements of the A3ES benchmarks for IQMS.
