Course Objectives
This cycle of studies aims to develop in the student human, intellectual, scientific and technical skills in the area of his competence, promoting skills necessary for the execution of tasks and problem solving that are compatible with his professional practice, developing an attitude and sense of responsibility to the community and other professionals. The graduate will be qualified, in multidisciplinary teams, to act in the environmental sanitary control, is up to him to detect, identify, analyze, prevent and correct environmental and occupational risks to health current or potential, caused by natural or anthropogenic phenomena. It is intended that the graduate acquires skills enabling him to evaluate critically the information collected, synthesizing and integrating the knowledge consistently and communicating in a clear, precise and assertive way, taking into account the sociocultural mean in which it operates, and should use on his arguments technical fundamentals and legal.
Access Conditions
National competition for access to public higher education, with entrance exams in one of the following sets:

For the application, a minimum score of 95 points is required in the entrance exams and in the application grade, expressed on a scale of 0 to 200 points.
The calculation formula includes 50% of the secondary school average and 50% of the entrance exams.
The regional preference corresponds to 20% of the vacancies, for the areas of influence of Aveiro, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Guarda, Leiria and Viseu.
Professional Outlets
The completion of the degree’s syllabus on Environmental Health entitles the admission to the profession of Environmental Health technician regulated by Decree-Law 320/99 of 11 of August.
The professional card shall be required to the Ministry of Health through the CAHS (Central Administration of the Health System).
