Portuguese Language and Culture Course

Learn Portuguese. Discover Coimbra. Feel at Home.
The Polytechnic University of Coimbra invites all Erasmus+ incoming students to participate in the Portuguese Language and Culture Course, an intensive programme designed to help you make the most of your mobility experience in Portugal.
Whether you are learning Portuguese for the first time or already have some basic knowledge, this course will provide you with practical language skills and an introduction to Portuguese culture, preparing you for everyday life and academic life at the Polytechnic University of Coimbra.

– Develop basic communication skills in Portuguese;
– Gain confidence in everyday and academic situations;
– Learn about Portuguese culture, traditions and way of life;
– Meet fellow Erasmus+ students before the semester begins;

Duration: 25 hours (Intensive Course)
Venue: PUC’s Coimbra Education School (ESEC)
Participation fee: 40€
ECTS: Successful completion of the course awards 3 ECTS, subject to attendance and assessment requirements.

Welcoming Students
The Polytechnic University of Coimbra also organizes welcoming activities for all foreign students in both the first and second semester.
These activities intend to integrate students into academic life by visiting iconic and important regional sites and are organized with the collaboration of Students Associations and ESN – Erasmus Students Network. The topics guiding the activities are diverse and include sports, environment or nature, and promote natural and cultural heritage of the region.
Applications
Before applying for admission as an Erasmus student, please ensure that your university has an Erasmus Inter-Institutional agreement with PUC (P COIMBRA 02) for your area of studies.
Please ensure that you have been nominated by your home institution to participate in the exchange. The nominations should be sent by your International Office to the International Office of the PUC’s school of your area of studies (by email). Please check the information below:
