Higher Technical Professional Course in Computer Networks and Systems

This course aims to train professionals who are able to design, install, configure and manage small and medium-sized communication networks autonomously, with the ability to adapt to emerging technologies.

In accordance with the regulation defined on the 40-E and 40-F of Decree-Law no. 63/2016 of 13th September, the following candidates may apply for higher professional technical courses:

a) Holders of a secondary education or legally equivalent qualification course;

b) Candidates who have got approval in the tests performed to assess the ability to attend higher education for those over 23 years old, taken for the course in question, under the provisions of Decree-Law No. 64 / 2006, of March 21st , amended by Decree-Laws No. 113/2014, of July 16th , and 63/2016, of September 13th.

c) Holders of a technological specialization diploma, a higher professional technician diploma or a higher education degree.
The admission conditions are defined in a regulation approved by the legal and statutory competent body of the higher education institution, previously published in the 2nd series of the Republic Diary.

This course trains technicians dedicated to the following functions • Design network infrastructures and identify the most suitable communication protocols and services
• Maintain and manage communication network hardware and software. • Install, configure and manage client-server platforms. • Install, configure and manage network infrastructures. • Install, configure and manage network services. • Install, configure and manage secure network environments.

Portuguese language

• Install and configure an operating systems, both on clients and servers;
• Prepare a communication network project budget;
• Set up a data communication network;
• Diagnose and troubleshoot a data communication network;
• Plan, configure and manage virtual local area networks;
• Install and configure wireless networks;
• Install, configure and manage network servers;
• Configure network services.

The CTeSP RSI holders can apply for the following degrees: • BsC in Computer Engineering
• BsC Informatics Engineering (Evening Classes)
• BsC Informatics Engineering (European Course)
