Course Objectives
The Master Course in Industrial Engineering and Management is a broadband course, with a duration of four academic semesters, aimed at the manufacturing and service organizations that have a relevant industrial engineering component. In the last semester, students must do a thesis, project or an internship in a company.
The main objective is to provide the graduates a wide spectrum of industrial training, especially in the areas of Production, Maintenance, Logistics, Marketing and Finance, through:
Integration of scientific, technological and management knowledge to solve problems in a multidisciplinary context;
Management of people, assets, and financial resources;
To use multi-disciplinary skills, in the areas of management, process, industrial, resources, systems, among others, to streamline the functioning of organizations;
Teamwork, and make their coordination;
Encourage skills to incorporate in professional work the latest technological innovations and management methodologies;
Stimulate entrepreneurship and self-motivation;
Provide trainees with skills and culture to the development of his professional activities;
Encourage a spirit of citizenship and values.

Learning Objectives
Knowledge and capacity of understanding to contribute to the development and deepening of the knowledge acquired at the 1st Cycle and enabling the basis of developments and / or original applications, particularly in the context of professional and research activities;
To apply knowledge and to have capacity for understanding and solve problems in new and unfamiliar situations, in broad and multidisciplinary contexts;
To have the ability to integrate knowledge, deal with complex issues, develop solutions and make judgments in situations of limited or incomplete information, including reflections about the implications and ethical and social responsibilities that result from those solutions and those judgments;
To be able to communicate conclusions, knowledge and reasoning that underlie them, either to specialists or non-specialists;
To develop skills to learning throughout life.

Masters in Industrial Engineering and Management may apply for PhDs degrees, especially those in the industrial engineering and management fields and other related scientific areas.
