O aluno que complete com sucesso esta UC, terá adquirido as seguintes competências: 2.1.Reconhece as especificidades do discurso científico-técnico nas duas línguas envolvidas.

2.2. Recolhe, analisa e seleciona informação nas duas línguas de trabalho.

2.3.Identifica e utiliza, de forma criativa, a sintaxe e a retórica próprias do discurso científico-técnico na produção de textos escritos.

The student who succeeds in this CU has acquired the following competences:

2.1.Recognises the specificities of the technical-scientific speech in Portuguese and English.

2.2. Gathers, analyses and selects information in both languages.

2.3.Identifies and uses, in a creative manner, the syntax and rhetoric appropriate to technical-scientific 

speech in the production of written texts.

2.4.Identifies and uses the appropriate grammar resources.

2.5.Presents and explains  topics  and issues of his/her field of expertise orally.

2.6.Collects, processes, uses and produces information.

I Comunicação:

1. Como preparar uma apresentação oral;

2. O relatório de estágio, as suas partes constituintes e linguagem apropriada à sua redação;

3. As normas bibliográficas NP 405 e APA 7ª edição.

II Língua inglesa:

1.Leitura e compreensão de textos sobre biotecnologia aplicada à agricultura, à engenharia alimentar, à engenharia genética, às ciências biomédicas.

2. Escrita de CV e cartas formais.

4. Gramática: singulares e plurais irregulares, substantivos contáveis e incontáveis, os números, os artigos, revisão dos tempos verbais, a voz passiva.

I Communication:

1.How to prepare an oral presentation;

2. The internship report, its parts and the appropriate language to its writing;

3. The bibliographical norms NP 405 and APA 7th edition.

II English Language:

1.Reading comprehension of texts on biotechnology and agriculture, food safety, genetic engineering, and biomedical sciences.

2. Writing of CV and formal letters.

4. Grammar: irregular plural of nouns, countables and uncountables, the numbers, the articles, tense revision, the passive voice.
