Course Objectives
Audits carried out by organisations to assess and analyse their own management systems are called internal audits. These audits are an essential tool for the maintenance of processes, providing observations and descriptions that help in their management and improvement.
In addition, internal audits allow you to obtain fundamental information about the implementation and effective maintenance of management systems. Although all
standards require internal audits, there is no fixed method for their execution, and it is necessary to adapt them to the type of activity of the organization. Organizations have a variety of resources to guide internal audits. Among these, the NP EN ISO 19011:2018 standard stands out, which defines guidelines for audits of management systems. This standard provides a robust framework for companies to plan, implement, and improve their audit programs.
ISO 19011:2018 defines seven fundamental principles that ensure that audits are effective and reliable tools. These principles ensure that management systems are evaluated objectively and that the information collected can be used to improve organizational performance. Audits are defined by the standard as a systematic, independent and documented process, with the main objective of assessing the extent to which the audit criteria are met.
Therefore, internal audits are indispensable tools for the effective management and continuous improvement of organizations. Through its application, it is possible not only to ensure compliance, but also to identify opportunities that drive organizational performance and excellence.
