Teaching Methodologies
In classes, the expositive method is followed for presentation of theoretical concepts, videos viewing and discussion of themes chosen within the objectives of the curricular unit are also used. Practical classes in the pedagogical unit of ESAC, with elaboration of a report, in order to develop students’ ability to interpret and criticize the technical results, and to select the most appropriate production systems and the use of new techniques.
Learning Results
This curricular unit aims to provide the students with knowledge of the whole productive process and the constraints in rabbit production for meat, through the following learning outcomes:
1. Know the general structure and the integration process of the national rabbit industry.
2. Select housing, feeding, breeding, management, and sanitary control systems, in the different industrial production systems.
3. Characterize the products resulting from production systems.
4. Explain the importance of controlling the profitability of a rabbit farm.
Program
1.Breeds of rabbits and their productive objectives.
2.The activities for production of meat: selection, breeders and production.
3. Housing systems and equipment for each production phase.
