Teaching Methodologies

Module 1. Floriculture, market, cut flowers and bottled plants Module 2. Gardening and lawns; Theoretical-practical classes and elaboration of reports related to different themes For a better consolidation of the concepts, the students are followed weekly in tutorial orientation classes
Students are required to attend classes. The minimum attendance value for each type of class is 75% of the number of classes taught.

Learning Results

The Course Unit (CU) of Floriculture and Gardening aims to provide students of the Course of Agro-Livestock Engineering with comprehensive information on the various activities, such as the production and use of cut flowers and bottled plants, production and use of garden and park plants or with landscape interest.

Program

1. Economic and social importance of ornamental plants 2. (1) Cut flowers; (2) Packaged plants; (3) Creation of gardens and maintenance of herbaceous gardens; (4) Types of Garden; (5) Planting and maintenance of ornamental and sporting lawns. 3. Execution of practical work in the field (harvesting of plant material, pruning of shrubs), laboratory (planting and plant multiplication), nursery (planting and acclimatization of seedlings obtained). 4. Bibliographic research and the analysis of articles and reports on the contents of the CU.
