Learning Results

(1) Know the main environmental challenges in production systems.
(2) Know the legal framework for environmental licensing, industrial licensing and the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) regime.
(3) Know and apply the BAT in various sectors of activity, namely: industrial, agricultural and forestry production.
(4) Learn about the new regime for livestock farming (NREAP).

A. Main environmental challenges in production systems
B. Legal regimes for environmental licensing, industrial licensing and the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (PCIP) system.
C. BAT in agricultural and forestry production:

  • a. Soil management: soil tillage; nutrient balance; soil erosion in semi-arid areas;
  • b. Control of crop pests using clean technologies;
  • c. Forestry crops in the centre region; standards associated with different forestry crops;
  • d. Agricultural activity and the defence of biodiversity in the EU – PEPAC 2023-27.

D. The new regime for livestock farming (NREAP)
E. BAT in livestock production:

  • a. Main environmental impacts of livestock farming on air, soil and water resources;
  • b. Main BAT for livestock farming (European BREFs and others).
