Community Audiology

TEACHING METHODOLOGIES:
Lectures and small group work in the classroom.
Screenings and awareness campaigns in other schools and day care centers.
Up to a limit of 25% classes can be teached on-line.
ASSESSMENT:
Continuous Evaluation;
Theoretical and practical evaluation (70% of final grade)
A written test (70%) and group work (30%) of the final grade.
Practical evaluation (30% of the final note)
A group report on clinical cases observed during the practical classes or a research project developed along the lines of the practical classes – 50%.
Continuous evaluation of the group – 50%
The final grade will be the average of the various evaluated activities.
If the final grade is less than 9.5 the student will be allowed to take a comprehensive written exam.The practical exam (if required) will be composed of oral and practical testing in the audiology laboratory.

To acquire an understanding of basic concepts applicable to public health and in promotion of health and possible usage of these concepts for audiology;
To acquire knowledge about audiological screening for different age groups;
Introduction to the study of central auditory processing and its disorders (community initiative).
