Histotechnology

Teaching Methodologies

The theoretical classes are aimed to present in detail the contents. During the classes will be used expository and interrogative methodology with direct involvement of students.
In the practical lessons shall give priority to the analysis of case studies, with further observation and discussion of the slides.

Learning Results

The student should acquire knowledge about:
• Concepts of the histological technique;
• The mode of operation of some of the most common laboratory equipment;
• The intervention of this professional in the laboratory as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The student must acquire skills of:
• To correlate and apply technical-scientific knowledge transmitted during the practical component;
• Understand the dynamics of laboratory and the safety behaviors to adopt.

The student must acquire competences of:
• Selection on the best procedure to be adopted during the histological technique, taking into consideration the type of biological material and the structures that want to show;
• Perform correctly the various stages of the histological technique and identify technical errors and demonstrate ability to solve them.
