Teaching Methodologies

The theoretical content of the course will be delivered through lectures, supplemented with case studies, whenever possible. Students will be encouraged to apply the skills acquired through practical activities, including analysis and discussion of case studies and exercises.

Learning Results

To understand the key concepts and actors associated with organizational knowledge.
To analyze the fundamental concepts related to systems, including their basic characteristics, classification and variables, as well as the system´s automation.
To know the most important aspects associated with information systems, especially regarding the types of existing information. To analyze the role of information system in the organization, including the typical problems raised by traditional philosophy of applications, the advantages of centralized control of data in IS and the guiding principles of managing an IS.
To know the various elements involved in information system and their role.
To identify the various aspects of the analysis of information, including system analysis, feasibility study, problem analysis, collection techniques, requirements specification and analysis tasks and algorithms.
