Teaching Methodologies
The academic year is divided into two components: classes dedicated to the presentation of theoretical
concepts, lessons devoted to the use of software and solving practical problems. The classes will be
interspersed in a sequence that optimizes the acquisition of skills.
Learning Results
Understand the key concepts of data management / data analysis. Learn probability models that constitute the
foundations of statistical inference and decision making. Understand, interpret and elaborate statistical /
econometric studies.
Initiation and use of a statistical software.
Program
1. Descriptive Statistics
Uni and bidimensional, frequency tables and graphical representation,. Measures of location, dispersion and
shape, covariance and correlation coefficient.
2. Probability
Randomized trial, space results, event and probability of an event. Conditional probabilities, independent
events, total probability theorem and Bayes’ theorem.
3. Random variables
Distribution function, distribution and probability density function. Mean, variance, standard deviation,
covariance.
