Learning Results

To acquire basic skills for the oral and written communication in Spanish;
To develop these skills, using the knowledge they have and in contexts adapted to their language level;
To understand, orally and in writing, instructions and explanations of everyday life;
To know basic everyday life vocabulary: hobbies, the house, physical and psychological states, the family, etc;
To ask for and give information;
To argue and to justify in simple contexts;
To describe objects, people, activities and personal preferences;
To be familiar with the Spanish pronunciation;
To know labour life basic vocabulary: invoices, slips, furniture and consumables;
To know some false friends to avoid making mistakes of understanding and production;
To know some aspects of the Spanish culture which may help to have a better understanding of certain aspects
of this language, so that learning easier.

Program

Grammar contents: The alphabet; the noun: gender and number; the adjective: gender and number; the
apocope; Definite and indefinite articles; Possessives: adjectives and pronouns; Demonstratives; Indefinites
and other quantifiers; the cardinal and ordinal numbers; Regular and irregular morphology and the use of the
following verb tenses: Presente/Pretérito Indefinido; Pretérito Imperfecto; The Gerund and the Participle; verbal
peripherals: ir a + infinitive; estar + gerund; tener que + infinitive; haber que + infinitive; deber + infinitive; poder
+ infinitivo; the verbs: ser, estar and haber.
Thematical and lexical contents:
Presentations; Personal data; Greetings and farewells; The clothes; The colours; physical and psychic traits;
The family; The house; The food; the daily routine; Hobbies and leisure time; Means of transport; Jobs; Days of
the week, months and seasons; The time.
