Teaching Methodologies

This course includes theoretical and practical lessons, where new subjects will be introduced and the contents
will be illustrated through discussion of concrete cases. Students will be asked to prepare classes before,
reading the bibliography carefully for each program chapter. It is of the utmost importance this previous work in
order to have the student exposing these contents and to be easier to learn and improve the global yield.
The appraisal has two alternatives and the student picks up one:
C. Just the final and mandatory exam in the terms and conditions of the Institute;
D. One work which is to make and present a written Business Plan for a new company and built from zero

Learning Results

To present the general problems in entrepreneurship and innovation in the light of: a) economic factor of
development; and b) management activity of strategic nature.
Draw the attention of students to entrepreneurship, underlining the conditions for start-ups to succeed, namely
regarding the planning of the new business and products, preparing the business plan, the funding options and
the future management.
Skills to be acquired:
To understand the innovation process and the multiplicity of factors determining it;
To make the Business Plan for a new firm in the area of information technology and communications;
