Teaching Methodologies

Teaching methodologies and assessment:

The course will consist of theoretical-practical classes, where themes will be presented and contents illustrated through the debate of concrete situations and cases. Evaluation is done in two ways at the student’s choice:

1st Way:

  • Article summary” – elaboration of a critical review / summary of a scientific article to be researched by the student at B-ON and approved by the teacher, and its written and oral presentation in class (individual work) (30%);
  • Dissertation, Project or Internship Plan, which consists of the construction of the work plan to be carried out in the 2nd year. Individual work. Oral presentation is included. (70%);

2nd Way:

Final exam according to terms and conditions presently effective at ISCAC.

Learning Results

Learning Objectives:

  • Contextualize the research process in Social Sciences;
  • Present the stages of the research process;
  • Highlight the importance of the research problem and of the theme selection, as well as the construction of the analysis model;
  • Make students aware of the research activity, underlining the relevance of a good literature review, choosing the most appropriate methods and techniques for data collection and treatment;
  • Review the case study methodology in Management.

 Skills and Competences:

  • Ability to identify a research topic and problem
  • Ability to build an analysis model
  • Ability to build a Dissertation, Project or Internship plan
