Teaching Methodologies
Teaching methodologies include an expository part and other, predominant, of “learning-by-doing” under a supervised way, fostering research and active participation by students, critical analysis and the collaborative process. This will allow students to develop specific and transversal skills that meet the objectives of the course.
The evaluation of the course will be done through two components:
a) Group analysis of a scientific article, with presentation and discussion in class, in which the students need to identify and explain the research methodology, and the results obtained – weight 50%.
b) Elaboration, presentation and discussion, individually, of the proposal of the dissertation, project work or the internship and report, organized according the rules approved by the scientific committee of the Master in Management Control – weight 50%.
This evaluation methodology is adopted in all periods.
Learning Results
The aim of this curricular unit is that the students could obtain knowledge about research methodologies, methods and techniques in the area of management control, in order to prepare them to do the work of the non-curricular part of the master course, that could be a thesis, a project work or the internship report. In this context, it is also intended to develop in students the ability to critically select and apply the adequate statistical methods to use and to do the data analysis, using a statistical software.
