Thermal Equipments

Base Knowledge

– Thermodynamics;
– Fluid Mechanics;
– Heat Transmission.

Teaching Methodologies

The course unit is organised in lectures, theoretical-practical lessons and laboratory practices.
The lectures are devoted to the presentation and discussion of the subjects taught. The theoretical-practical lessons are used for resolving application exercises. In practical lessons is presented software and technical documentation related to the equipment studied and is made a visit to the Laboratory of Thermal Systems for students contact with thermal equipment and systems existing there.

Learning Results

The main objective of this course unit is to provide detailed and insightful knowledge on thermal equipment and systems.
This course unit contributes to the achievement of the following specific skills:
– Sizing and selection of thermal equipment;
– Design, supervise the installation and assure the efficient operation of thermal systems.
