Interest in cities has been spreading as awareness grows that they are unavoidable in the development dynamics of societies and humanity. But, at the same time, there is also a growing perception that this crucial role should be played based on a logic that articulates economic development and the creation of wealth and well-being with respect for the resources that the planet offers, maintaining a focus on people and in the social groups in which they are organized. This requires a comprehensive understanding of urban environments and systems and an ability to explore technology-based solutions to optimize the operation and resources used in building and managing cities. The Master in Sustainable and Smart Cities aims to cover the need to qualify professionals with sustainability and urban intelligence skills in transversal logic, collaboration and innovation.
