Teaching Methodologies
In Theoretical-Practical lessons the expository method is used; reflection about introduced subjects in the light of the widely accepted conservation criteria is encouraged. Also solving practical strengthening design problems is done by the teacher. In Tutorial classes students will be supervised in solving practical design problems.
Learning Results
Objectives: rehabilitation of ancient buildings and strengthening of structural elements; conservation technology.
Generic skills: acquiring knowledge and understanding; engineering judgment and decision making; self-learning.
Specific skills: acquiring knowledge and in depth understanding of building rehabilitation issues, buildings safety check, and also strengthening design methods for structural elements; skills for design, supervision and conducting rehabilitation and strengthening works.
