Teaching Methodologies

Active methodologies of improvisation, creation and body and / or vocal composition will be used based on stimuli and materials used in the curricular unit “Intervention Project”, which will allow students to develop their creative potential in these two domains (body and voice). Exercises will be proposed to raise awareness of the expressive and intervening possibilities of the body and the voice on the scene.

This practical curricular unit will have an exclusively continuous evaluation:
1. Participation – problems resolution using body and voice (40%).
2. Laboratory work – application of acquired learning to new situations (60%).
Under point 8 of article 13º of the Academic Regulation of the 1st cycle of studies at ESEC, the student must meet the following specific condition for access to the resource exam: have attended 90% of the classes.
The exam have a practical test.

Learning Results

1. Identify creative processes in active techniques of expression and verbal and non-verbal communication in a perspective of intervention in different contexts.
2. Know how to use body and vocal languages, organizing them and transforming them into scenic materials.
3. To develop exercises oriented to the transdisciplinary intervention in the theatrical domain.
4. Provide students with a space for analysis and transfer of the learning acquired in the curricular units of Body and Voice, directing them to diverse situations.
5. Develop autonomy skills for body and vocal creation.

Program

1. Body and voice in intervention context:
1.1. Body techniques – movement, gesture and action; Space / time / motion relationship; Expressivity / movement dynamics.
1.2. Vocal techniques – the vocal amplitude and its contribution to the vocal body; Space / action / vocal intentionality relationship.
