Learning Results

The discipline of constitutional law aims to provide students with a legal perspective, the Portuguese government’s
point of view of “state public power”and “community of persons on whose behalf it is exercised.” Its intentional
volitional element to establish the principles and rules which govern the organization, operation and limits of public
authority of the State and the study of “fundamental” rights of persons belonging to the political community.
Assume further the nature of “rights” hierarchical superior in the Portuguese legal system (in the face of the other
branches of law).
