Measures and Instrumentation

Base Knowledge

Analysis of basic electrical circuits.

Teaching Methodologies

Theoretical classes consist of powerpoint presentations complemented by problem solving
concerning measurements and the apparatus involved.
Laboratory classes consist of the implementation of signal acquisition and amplification circuits as well as executable in Labview.
A research work is carried out by the students to be presented at the end of the semester.

Learning Results

Know the basic principles associated with measurement processes, their errors and quality metrics.

Know the working principles of the different elements of an instrumentation system.

Know the main principles of transduction.

Understand signal conversion and conditioning systems and Data Acquisition Systems.

Develop small applications in Virtual Instrumentation.

Understand interferences in measurement systems, their causes and solutions.

Know the standards applicable to the testing and diagnosis of medical equipment.
