Access Conditions

National competition for access to public higher education, with entrance exams in one of the following sets:
One of the following sets:
02 Biology and Geology
07 Physics and chemistry
or
02 Biology and Geology
16 Mathematics

For the application, a minimum score of 95 points is required in the entrance exams and in the application grade, expressed on a scale of 0 to 200 points.

The calculation formula includes 50% of the secondary school average and 50% of the entrance exams.

The regional preference corresponds to 20% of the vacancies, for the areas of influence of Aveiro, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Guarda, Leiria and Viseu.

Professional Outlets

The completion of the degree’s syllabus on Pharmacy entitles the admission to the profession of Pharmacy technician regulated by Decree-Law 320/99 of 11 of August.
The professional card shall be required to the Ministry of Health through the CAHS (Central Administration of the Health System

Learning Objectives

The knowledge, generic skills and competences to be acquired have as reference the profile defined in Ordinance
No. 782/2009 of 23rd July (National Qualifications System).
Thus, the degree in pharmacy offers the student scientific knowledge, technical skills and competences necessary
for the effective performance of their tasks, with prof
essionalism, autonomy and responsibility, respecting the
ethical and legal principles inherent to their profession.
The learning objectives are: to understand the concepts, principles and theories related to biologic sciences,
human and social, medical and pharmaceutical, relevant
for the performance of a professional practice based on
the evidence in the different areas of intervention.
Develop, apply and evaluate technical methods and process
es of technical nature in all stages of the medicine
circuit, from the conception, analysis and pharmacological trials, production, certification, distribution and
conservation to the final user.
Plan, execute and evaluate processes of technical nature in order to produce with quality and safety of medicinal
products in aseptic environments.
Analysis and interpretation of galenical formulas and
therapeutic prescriptions, with a view to the therapeutic
management and promoting patient safety.
Plan, develop and participate in actions and training pr
ogram, education, awareness and enlightenment of users
and other health technicians in the context of the use and consumption of medicine. Develop organizational and
systemic competence in order to manage and evaluate
the professional practice and promote their development.
Develop studies and participate in applied research projects related to the use and consumption of medicinal and
health products, in order to contribute for the gains in health and improve the quality of life of citizens

Access to Superior Studies

The graduate degree allows the application to postgraduate studies.
