Air Conditioning Installations

Base Knowledge

Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Air Conditioning.

Teaching Methodologies

At the theoretical-practical classes content is normally exposed and developed using audiovisual equipment and several practical cases involving sizing and selection of equipment are presented. At the practical/laboratory classes, HVAC equipment is presented, including their operating principles, installation, operation and maintenance.

Learning Results

The aim of this course is to complement the training in the area of common HVAC systems, analyzing their specific features and applications, giving more emphasis to practical aspects. It is intended that students acquire the necessary knowledge to calculate the fundamental elements of HVAC facilities and select the main equipment and also know the respective fundamentals of installation, operation and maintenance. This course contributes mainly to the acquisition by the students of the following specific skills: Design, budgeting, installation management and maintenance of air conditioning and renewable energy facilities.
