Biomedical Laboratory Sciences Clinical Placement III

Base Knowledge

The student must have the knowledge of all curricular units of Biomedical Laboratorial Sciences scientific
area of taught until the 2nd semester of the 4rd year.

Teaching Methodologies

Predominantly demonstrative methodologies will be applied. However, interrogative, expository and active methodologies will be used according to the activities to be developed in the internship module. At the end of each internship module, the student must deliver a report prepared to the internship officers,
according to rules defined by the holder of the course.
The evaluation of each internship module is the responsibility of the internship monitors indicated by ESTeS
Coimbra.

Learning Results

On completion of the clinical placement the student must:

• Integrate the service where the internship is held;

• Know the service organization;

• Make contact with the analytical techniques of internship area;

• Develop teamwork skills;

• Develop skills and competences aimed at obtaining professional autonomy;

• Develop critical skills on the various situations that arise in a professional laboratory;

• Applying technical and scientific knowledge acquired in the curricular units related to the modules realized in this placement.
