Business Information Systems

Contents of the course are presented through exposition of concepts and examples, their explanation and dialogue.
Group work is used to promote discussion on the contents subjects.
The periodic evaluation consists in the realization of group assignments, all presented in class (10 values), and a written (individual) test quoted 10 values. Each of these evaluation elements has a minimum of 40% of its total. In final evaluation students can also obtain approval in the course by conducting a work (quoted 5 values) and a written individual test (quoted 15 values).

Several enterprise information systems (EIS) can be implemented to support business processes and the emergent digital ecosystems. In many cases, information systems allow business redesign and new forms of interactions with business partners. This unit will address the specification, design, and implementation of business processes supported by emerging information technologies and enterprise architectures. Different enterprise information systems will be studied, including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), SCM (Supply Chain Management), HCM (Human Capital Management) and other platforms that are driving digital transformation and industry 4.0.
