Teaching Methodologies

Teaching methodologies promote autonomy in the study and integration of theoretical and practical knowledge. The contents and bibliographic sources are presented in expository and dialogued classes. Students prepare and present work about the application of theoretical contents.

 

The evaluation will be made by continuums evaluation or final exam (200 points (p) = 20 values).

 

By continuums evaluation:

1) Written test – 80 p

2) Motor  performance – 100 p

3) Participation in classes – 10 p

5) Participation in complementary activities – 10 p

 

Examination assessment:

1) The exam consists of written test.

2) Access to the examination is reserved for students who obtain at least 40 p in TP works in the evaluation by frequency.

Learning Results

1.  Know the specificities of the various combat sports (e.g., judo, jiu-jitsu, karate) relating to its origin and historical development, current institutional framework, rules, spaces and equipment suitable for leisure and competitive contexts.

2.  Know how to describe the basic principles of the in different practice situations, organize the process of evaluation, diagnosis and correction of the basic technical gestures, evaluate and prescribe exercises to develop technically and tactically beginners and intermediate practitioners.

3.  Know the basis of techniques, the basic tactical principles, the development of beginners and intermediate practitioners, and the principles of mental training, applied to different levels and ranks of practitioners of the various combat sports.

4.  Know how to apply the basic principles of physical preparation in the various modalities of combat sports, organize different approaches to the development of skills, and structure the training sessions according to the physical characteristics of the practitioners and the needs of the various modalities of combat sports.

5.              Know the basic elements, the elements that define the work of the coach, the elements that characterize the beginners and intermediate practitioners, and the elements, structure and specific strategies of the various modalities of combat sports.

Program

1.  Characterization of the various modalities of combat sports in the general context of sports.

2.  Historical and institutional framework of the various modalities of combat sports.

3.  Rules, spaces and equipment of the various forms of combat sports.

4.  Technical gestures, dynamics and tactics of the various forms of combat sports.

5.  Physical preparation for the various combat sports based on the knowledge of exercise physiology and methodology of sports training. 6.

6.  Pedagogy and didactics of the various forms of combat sports: stages of progression of the teaching of technical gestures and tactical behaviors. 7.

7.  Exercises for learning and training: training loads associated with the training exercises of the various combat sports.

8.  Planning and guidance of training sessions of the various forms of combat sports: models of training plans.
