Teaching Methodologies

In this course will be: e) exploring of thematic and problem situations from a gender perspective,
citizenship and human rights; ii) analysis, interpretation and discussion papers, in group, fostering
reflection, sharing and encouraging critical attitudes; iii) research and reflection strategies in HE; iv)
design intervention proposals in HE, founded and selected by students and by taking into account the
specific context of action; v) preparation of a project (40%) for the presentation and debate in class (40%).
The process of continuous evaluation includes also an individual performance – attendance, punctuality,
participation and motivation (20%).In the project aspects such as structure and organization of
information; appropriateness to the objectives of the work; language used; quality and correction of
scientific, critical attitude, diversity strategies and adaptation to the target population, are valued.
Evaluation by exam (100%) will be made through written and/or oral test.

Learning Results

To understand the evolution of the concept of health, values and paradigms in the context of human rights.
To recognize the determinants of health and health promotion policies and quality of life.
To reflect on social determinants and health inequalities.
To expand discussions on links between health, gender and education.
To discuss the models and strategies for Health Education.
To reflect on health intervention strategies aimed at promoting individual health and population.
To plan educational intervention programs for health at national and international level in specific contexts.
