Teaching Methodologies

Nas aulas teóricas é feita uma exposição de cada assunto complementada pela resolução de exercícios de aplicação dos conhecimentos adquiridos. As aulas de orientação tutorial, para além do atendimento pedagógico e o esclarecimento de dúvidas, são também complementadas com a resolução de exercícios. Nas aulas laboratoriais são realizados, em grupo, trabalhos práticos que visam a validação experimental dos conhecimentos adquiridos e a implementação de novos circuitos desenhados e projectados pelos alunos. Semanalmente são ainda disponibilizados na plataforma Moodle, testes online individuais que acompanham os conteúdos teóricos leccionados. 

Learning Results

Goals

  • Study the discrete electronic components and basic semiconductors;
  • Learn to use more advanced measurement techniques involving the oscilloscope;
  • Analyse theoretically and understand the operation of electronic components and circuits;
  • Learn to design and implement small complexity electronic circuits;
  • Acquire basic concepts of sensors and actuators and implement electronic signal conditioning circuits.

Skills

  • Interpret and draw schematics and technical manuals of components, equipment and electronic systems;
  • Design, implement and maintain circuits and electronic systems;
  • Know how to perform measurement and maintenance tasks with electronic measurement equipment;
  • Be able to choose sensors and actuators suited to a particular application

3. Bipolar Junction Transistor.

Physical structure and mode of operation;

Polarization circuits;

The transistor as an amplifier;

4. Field Effect Transistor.

Introduction to the theory and operation of field effect transistors;

Metal oxide field effect transistors;

The Enhancement and Depletion type MOSFET;
