Eletrophysiology and Ablation

Base Knowledge

Knowledge about cardiovascular anatomy and physiology;

Overall knowledge of cardiologic therapeutics;

Knowledge on celular eletrophysiology;

knowledge on eletrocardiology.

Teaching Methodologies

The teaching of the curricular unit is divided into TP and PL. The teaching methods applied to TP components are a) Expository method, in which the principles and concepts are approached as is in the proposed program, using audio visual means: b) the Interactive Method with privileged discussion on major themes introduced in class, and allow a practical integration of theoretical concepts.
In the PL component students are part of the multidisciplinary team in the Eletrophysiology Laboratory, under a senior supervision, developing in real context the instrumental skills arising from the process of theoretical training.

Learning Results

At the end of this curricular unit students should be able to:
-Know the theories that support the pathophysiological phenomena at the level of Arrhythmology;
-Know the indications, contraindications and complications relating to the application of different techniques of diagnosis and therapeutics in Arrhythmology;
-Know the equipment, materials, techniques and protocols of electrophysiological studies.
-Monitor, record and analyze the various parameters in the Protocol of electrophysiological studies applied to cardiac arrhythmias.
-Know the procedure, materials, protocols and interpretation of ILR monitoring.
