Basic knowledge of Public and Environmental Health

Teaching Methodologies

Use of interactive audiovisual media in theoretical classes; conducting group research work;
study visits for better assimilation of the contents, with the elaboration of reports; small works done
during the practical theoretical classes

Whenever fiesable, participation and/or organization in activities and events framed in the themes of the curricular unit will be promoted, with particular emphasis on the Eco-Schools Program

Learning Results

The student must acquire knowledge regarding:

Types of habitat as well as hygiene and health conditions that can interfere with the health of populations.

Legislation applicable to the area of knowledge

The student must acquire aptitudes to:

Relate natural and artificial habitat conditions to human health

The student must acquire skills to:

Integrate and/or lead public health teams focused on hygiene and health issues in homes and their surroundings

Develop awareness actions focused on the implementation of measures to promote the hygiene and healthiness of habitats, in particular artificial human habitats

Identify, evaluate and intervene in the promotion of hygiene/salubrity of the various types of human artificial habitat;

Understand the application of the ecosystem approach in the context of artificial human habitat;

Identify the principles of habitat sustainability and relate them to human health.
