Teaching Methodologies

The internship plan will be accompanied by a professor, who will act as an internship supervisor, and by a person designated by the host organization, who will act as an internship supervisor. The advisor should monitor the execution of the internship plan through periodic meetings with the student, with the supervisor and visits to the internship location. The supervisor will have the task of monitoring the tasks performed by the trainee student on a daily basis. The assessment will be carried out through the following elements: – Assessment of the student’s performance in the work context, to be carried out by the supervisor; – Evaluation of the student’s performance by the ESTGOH Professor; – Evaluation of the presentation, defense and internship report, to be carried out by the same panel of professors that evaluates the report.;

Learning Results

Objectives: 1.Provide the application and integration of knowledge in a real work context; 2.Provide a practical view on the functioning of regional and local development institutions or public institutions with competences in the area of spatial planning or private institutions that develop investment projects and / or spatial planning plans; 3. Prepare the student for an efficient entry into the job market. Competences: 1.Apply scientific and technical knowledge in professional practice situations; 2.Plan, implement and evaluate professional activities according to available resources; 3. Demonstrate the capacity for critical analysis and discussion of the results obtained; 4. Demonstrate the capacity for autonomy, responsibility and rigor; 5. Demonstrate resilience and the ability to reverse adverse situations; 6. Integrate work teams and be proactive in achieving synergies between the elements of the group.

Program

The internship will take place in private entities, public administration entities and in regional and local development study centers. The internship plan must contain the following syllabus: 1. Reception in the organization; 2. Knowledge of the organization’s structure and functioning; 3.Planning strategic analysis actions; 4.Implementation of actions; 5.Evaluation of plans and actions; 6.Reduction of the internship report; 7. Presentation and defense of the internship report.

Bibliography

The student must make use of all the bibliography used in the other course units of the course and which is relevant to the planning, execution and evaluation of concrete activities in the workplace and, later, for the writing of the internship report.
