Laboratory of Maintenance

Base Knowledge

Approval in curricular units that integrate the “General and Scientific” and “Technical” training components of the course.

Teaching Methodologies

In theoretical classes a theoretical exposition of each subject is made. An introduction to Programming Practices in Labview, is also made.
In the theoretical-practical classes, good maintenance practices are analyzed and procedures and equipment used are studied.
In practical-laboratory classes, practical cases of diagnosis, maintenance and repair are solved.

Learning Results

» To know how to prepare a workshop space for a maintenance intervention;
» To know how to properly handle spare parts and tools;
» To know how to take the most ecological attitudes according to each specific maintenance intervention;
» To know, within the scope of an intervention, disassemble, reassemble and test the equipment: Mechanical, Electrical and Electromechanical.

Program

Maintenance Practices of Mechanical Systems:
Maintenance intervention of mechanical and electromechanical equipment; selection of the necessary tools; selection of safety equipment.
Definition of ecological procedures to follow; care to be taken into account in the interconnection of electrical and mechanical devices; disassembly of equipment; reassembly of equipment.
Electric Machine Maintenance Practices:
Field estimation of load and efficiency of three-phase induction motors; identification and mitigation of electric currents activities in bearings.
General strategies for optimizing the operation of electric powertrain systems; evaluation of the quality of electrical energy and its impact on the operation of three-phase induction motors.
The benchmarking process in maintenance.
“Checklists” recommended for different equipment.
