Teaching Methodologies

In theoretical classes a theoretical exposition of each subject is made and procedures and equipment used in technical vehicle inspections are studied.
In practical-laboratory classes, practical cases in the field of diagnosis, maintenance and repair of the engine and vehicle are solved in groups.

» To assess and predict probable causes of damage and establish options and repair levels.

1-AUTO REPAIR MANAGEMENT PRACTICES
WORKSHOP LAY-OUT AND FUNCTIONAL STRUCTURE
Perfect workshop layout; Organic and functional structure: organization chart; Productivity ratios: recommended values; Profisiograms.
PLANNING AND ORGANIZATION OF OFFICIAL WORK
Operations planning; Work processes and methods; Organization of the workplace; Use of manuals and technical documentation; Identification of parts in the TECDOC catalog; Records of execution times and times of use of the equipment.
OFFICIAL PRODUCTION SCHEDULE
Work preparation; Daily and weekly operations program; Load maps for equipment and labor; Simplified management of working times; Hourly labor cost; Temparios.
REPAIR BUDGET
Competencies of the budgetist; Computer systems; Budget estimate of the repair; Repair orders.
REPAIR CONTROL
Control of the repair process; Repair of damaged vehicles; Operation of the car repair process of insurance companies.
AFTER SALE AND GUARANTEES
Basic car warranty process; Preparation, control and supervision of guarantees; Procedures, legal aspects and civil liability of car maintenance.
2-AUTOMOBILE REPAIR PRACTICES
DIAGNOSIS MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF THE ENGINE AND VEHICLE
Corrective and preventive maintenance plans and operations for vehicles, machine tools and workshop equipment; Lubrication standards during the running-in period and in periodic interventions; Partial engine overhaul; Motor vehicle review sheets according to age and mileage. Time mandatory periodicity by law, related to the maintenance of each equipment.
Diagnostic, maintenance and repair techniques for the engine and vehicle: electrical and electronic systems, transmission / gearbox system, steering system, braking system, wheels and tires, suspension system, air conditioning system, exhaust system ; Software updates by “passthrough” system.
Degradation of chassis and bodies; Chassis and bodywork maintenance processes; Prevention of anomalies in chassis and bodies.
LARGE ENGINE FAULTS
Characterization of major failures; Main causes; Grip of pistons in the cylinders; Fusion of bearings; Crankshaft rupture; Connecting rod rupture; Piston rupture or holes; Valve rupture; Engine block rupture.
3-TECHNICAL VEHICLE INSPECTIONS
General and specific objectives; Classification and requirements for inspector licenses; Inspection classification; Inspection Schedule; Procedures for vehicle technical inspections; Equipment used for inspection.
